New Class!
Mondays 9:30am – Balanced Yoga with Faith Dunkel-Mueller

A yoga class where you can gain balance in Body, Mind and Soul. Gain flexibility, open important energy channels, naturally lower blood pressure and increase strength. Modifications will be given so all may join in!


Yoga & Oils with Jenn
Friday February 19th 7:00-8:30pm  $20 ($18 Members)

We will start with a quick introduction to essential oils: what they are and the ways to use them during daily life, as well as to enhance and support our yoga practice.  We will then move into a practice using oils which will involve meditation, breath work, stretching, and flowing movement.
Online and in studio.  All attendees will receive oil samples to be used during class. *If you’re attending online, please make sure to sign up in time for us to get those samples to you in time for class!*

Yin Yoga with Jenn L is back!
Mondays 5:00pm – Beginning 1/11/21

Opposite of yang type yoga (hatha, Iyengar, power) Yin yoga is a slow paced yoga practice in which postures are held anywhere from 2-5 minutes each. Props such as blocks, bolsters and blankets are used to help access certain postures and for extra support.
This type of yoga has a deeper meditative approach and its a great way to to connect with the present moment. Some of the great benefits of this practice are: lower levels of anxiety, lower blood pressure, deep tissue release, increased flexibility and calming of the mind.
Yin yoga is a wonderful tool to just slow down, observe and appreciate the now.
This class utilizes props – if attending at home, please have a blanket, pillow(s) or bolster, and 2 blocks or similar sized item available.  If attending in studio, we encourage you to bring what you can, and any studio props will be cleaned after use.  
 
Gentle Flow with Jenn D
Thursdays 7pm

We took a poll on Facebook and Instagram about adding this class either Saturdays at 9:30am or Thursdays at 7pm.  The results were 50/50, so for a limited time we will have both- whichever class has better attendance may stay on the schedule long term.

October Update

*Please note – Policy change*

We have been following the MA guidelines, which state that masks must be worn, but can be removed if spaced at least 14 feet apart.  This allowed us to remove masks during class if there were 3 or less students attending classes in studio.  However, with the rising Covid numbers in the state and the area, we have made the decision to change the policy at LYC and require masks at all times in the studio including during classes for now.  We feel this is the best decision in order to do our best to keep everyone safe.

All classes are still offered virtually if you would prefer to practice at home without a mask.

This floor-based practice will begin with gentle warm ups before moving into a sequence of longer-held supported positions. Various techniques for mindfulness will be incorporated throughout. There will not be any hands-on touch, however Noël will offer distance reiki while diffusing essential oils to help you further achieve a state of inner balance and calm. No experience necessary.

Classes are limited to 7 students in the studio, and masks will be required for everyone.
If there are 3 or less students attending class, mats will be spread out as much as possible, and masks may be removed once everyone is settled as long as everyone is at least 14 feet apart.
If there are 4 or more in attendance, masks will need to remain on for the duration of class, and mats will be spaced at least 6 feet apart.

We highly encourage everyone to bring their own mat, as well as any props they would like to use.  If any studio equipment is used, it will be cleaned before it is used again.

Reopening Update

In studio classes are returning soon to LYC!
 

Now that phase 3 has been given the go ahead from the state, we are making plans to return to in studio classes.
The tentative plan is to resume classes on Sunday July 12th.  There will not be any virtual classes next week as we work out the details for reopening.  

In studio classes will be limited to 7 students, and masks will be required for everyone.
We highly encourage everyone to bring their own mat, as well as any props they would like to use.  If any studio equipment is used, it will be cleaned before it is used again.  

Because of limited space, and to limit contact, signing up and paying for class ahead of time will be required.  If you sign up for class and are not able to make it, please cancel through MindBody or let us know in case we have others who would like that spot.  No shows and those that cancel less than 2 hours before class begins will be charged for that class.

If you don’t have any classes left on your account, you will be prompted to purchase when you sign up, with the options of drop in, 4 class, or 8 class package.   

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe, and are looking forward to practicing with everyone in person again soon!  

Due to the current circumstances, we have decided to suspend the use of studio props for the time being.  This includes bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps.  You are welcome to bring your own if you would like.  We will still have mats available, which will be cleaned by us after each use.  However, we do encourage you to bring your own mat if you have one.

Please keep an eye on the schedule for any changes.  Some classes may be cancelled, and some will be substituted by another class/teacher.  Hopefully this will all be temporary and we will be back to the usual schedule soon. 

If you are signed up for a class and it is cancelled you will be notified, which is why it’s a good idea to register for classes ahead of time.  If not, just check the schedule on the website or the MindBody app before you head to the studio.    

Lastly, just a gentle reminder to choose to spread love, kindness, and positive thoughts.

“I began practicing yoga ten years ago and it was an act of self-love that I fell in love with. To me everything is yoga. Whether it’s a fierce class where you’re sweating and building strength or the decision to take a nap and be kind to your self – it’s all yoga. As I fell more in love with this beautiful practice I wanted to deepen my knowledge. I completed my 200 hour training at Frog Pond Yoga Center in 2018 and have been teaching since. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Australia and live on a yoga retreat center for two months, where I also built a stronger connection and understanding of my practice. I continue to explore the unique realms of Yoga by attending workshops and classes and look forward to completing my 300 hour YTT. I love to make friends, laugh often, and spend as much time as possible with my dog and cat.”

New Classes:

Breath & Body Connection with Cara
Tuesdays 9:30am starting February 4th (no class February 18th)

A slow paced practice that will allow the opportunity to quiet the mind, connect deeply to the breath, and then move the body. This class will have a strong focus on the foundations, taking time to pause in the poses and experience them. We will explore what muscles support the poses and become more familiar with the natural habits of our bodies. By taking the time to pause, breathe, and reflect we will strengthen the body and mind, alleviate stress, and bring that strength and peace off the mat as well. This class is all levels friendly – great for beginners learning the poses and advanced practitioners who want to explore them more deeply.

Meditating with Movement with Cara
Wednesdays 5:00pm starting February 12th (no class February 19th) 
In this practice we will focus strongly on the breath. We begin warming up and becoming comfortable with the poses, movement, and our own bodies. After finding our alignment we will begin to increase the pace allowing the practice to become a moving meditation. The vinyasa becomes an opportunity to allow the movement to shadow the breath, drawing the mind back to the present moment again and again. I strive to build an atmosphere where everyone can be as human, real, and “flawed” as they need to be. We aren’t striving for the perfect pose but a place to share our sweat, energy, and laughter with one another all while we cultivate a quiet mind and stronger body.

This class is for anyone that is looking to get into that flow state right away by working on core strength with a dynamic yoga sequence followed by balancing and flexibility postures and ending with a long Savasana (meditation) to fully recharge for the rest of the day.
