Stretch & Reflect with Jenn L

Sunday June 26, 2022 5:00-6:15pm

A yin yoga class especially designed for deep tissue release, improve mobility, flexibility and increase blood flow. Poses will be held for 2-5 min and practiced seated on the mat, using props to access them and to accommodate all levels of flexibility. This is a deep slow paced practice that can get you into a peaceful state of relaxation right away with the help of calming breath techniques and guided support. A 15 min savasana meditation will follow ending your practice with a positive, calm and restorative perspective.
*Optional Reiki will be also provided during the class by Jenn D for those that choose to receive it*

Free Class/Photoshoot!

We are offering a free class which will be photographed for marketing purposes.  Anyone is encouraged to attend; we want these photos to show that all ability levels, ages, body types, etc. are welcome here at LYC.  Come and represent the wonderful community we have here at LYC!
 
Our teaching staff will be taking turns leading the class, so it’s also an opportunity to experience each teacher’s style if you haven’t already.
All attendees will be asked to sign a photo release waiver prior to the start of class.

Yoga Nidra is a guided visual meditation.  Most practices are done lying down and include several stages to relax the body, mind and emotions.  The goal is to move into a state of sleep with trace awareness.  All are welcome.

Starting with centering, then breath work, warm up, vinyasa flow and finishing with shavasana.  Link your breath with dynamic and challenging flowing sequences of poses.  Strengthen your muscles and spine, stabilize your core.  Open up your deep tissue muscles, and promote deep rest and relaxation.  

Yoga Foundations with Pam
Tuesdays 5:30pm

The emphasis is on basic poses and breathing correctly, which will help you establish a solid foundation. If you are new to yoga, returning to the mat or looking to ground your practice, Yoga Foundations classes could be ideal for you. These classes focus on a new area of practice each week. This foundational program is designed for those who want to practice yoga safely, strongly, and effectively. Students will learn the essential poses and techniques, while experiencing movement and flow.

Monday Morning Gratitude with Ashley
Mondays 9:30am

A full body morning yoga flow to build strength, increase flexibility, and leave you feeling energized. Start your week off with gratitude by balancing your mind, body, and spirit with breathing techniques, movement, and optional chanting to close. All levels are welcomed.

Happy Hips & Low Back with Ashley
Wednesdays 9:30am

A full body yoga sequence with a primary focus on relieving pain and tension in the hips and lower back. The shapes and movements in this practice target improving hip and spinal mobility, pain alleviation, and building strength while working with the breath. All levels are welcomed.

Gentle Stretch with Lisa
Fridays 9:30am

This is an all levels class, in which gentle postures are held for several minutes to facilitate a deep stretch in the body. This nourishing practice works deeply into the connective tissues and joints of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. It is a great balance for more active forms of movement. Meditation will also be incorporated into this class.

Bolster Yoga with Marie
Wednesdays 4pm

Build strength and flexibility using the yoga bolster. A mix of active and restorative poses using a bolster to aid in opening the body, support poses, soften a posture, create relaxation and increase stretching.

Wall Yoga with Marie
Thursdays 9:30am 

Explore the wall as a point of reference for variant parts of your body. Will practice a number of poses for stretching and strengthening. Work with your breath and find alignment and balance.

Yoga for All with Pam
Fridays 8am 

A gentle class focusing on holding postures and linking movement with the breath. The instructor will offer a variety of modifications to encourage participation. We will do sitting, stretching, standing and suggest challenging variations for more advanced students, yet fun and non-intimidating options for newer students. All levels – beginners welcome!

Slow Flow and Restore with Pam
Thursdays 6pm

This class will flow slowly through postures designed to release tensions in the body and mind, slowly and gently. Meditation and Pranayama (breath work) techniques are taught to promote relaxation. Class finishes with some cool down postures to settle the mind, body and soul.

Yoga for Everyone with Carolyn
Tuesdays 7pm (beginnig 10/12/21)

This class is designed to help you explore the basic postures used in most active styled yoga class. It will heavily focused on alignment for the beginner and advanced.

Yoga Flow with Carolyn
Wednesdays 7pm (beginning 10/13/21)

Open to all level of experience and will offer a little challenge. The intention for this class is to be able to express yourself in the practice of yoga and to be comfortable showing up just exactly as you are. This class encourages props and straps.

Covid Policy Update

Per State and CDC guidelines, as of 5/29/21 masks will now be optional for those who are fully vaccinated for Covid-19.  Those who have not been vaccinated are asked to continue to wear a mask. For now, we will continue at a limit of 8 students per class with mats spread at least 6 feet apart.
